Project implemented in KIPSING, Isiolo County, in the central part of Kenya. Samburu and Turkana people. June 2021.
A well drilled over 100 meters deep. Electric pump powered by 23 photovoltaic panels. Under the influence of local changes caused by the Project, the Municipality financed the construction of a water collector, for which several dozen locals were employed. The pressure pipeline leads from the well we built as part of the Project to the existing, no longer operating water tower, as well as to water tanks – the 5 000 liter one we purchased, and to those located next to a Mission House and by the school. After the well was launched, the local hospital, previously closed due to lack of water, was reopened.
This well is used by approximately 500 kids from the mission and over 3 000 residents of nearby areas. Additionally, the water supplies the local hospital.
