KENYA, Kilifi – Sadi’s family and neighbors – March 30, 2020

The severity of the COVID-19 pandemic in Africa resulted in authorities imposing a curfew and forcing people to stay at home. Just like in Europe, restaurants, bars, hotels and shops were closed. People working part-time jobs lost them in an instant and were forced to stay at home, without any means of subsistence. Before the pandemic, their situation was already very bad, with about 42% of people living in extreme poverty. Nowadays it is even worse. Through my local representatives I’m reaching the places that I got know and we distribute food there.

The first location is Kilifi, Sadi’s family and neighbors.

UGANDA, Serere – the family and friends of our representative Paul – April 23, 2020

In Uganda, as in Kenya, the pandemic has paralyzed people’s lives. Commercial premises have been closed, transportation shut down. This was a very difficult time for these wonderful people. We are there as well.

KENYA, Kilifi – Sadi’s fmili and neighbors – April 25, 2020

I’m going back to the Kilifi area again. Sadi distributes food.

KENYA, Mnarani, approx. 60km north of Mombasa – May 12, 2020

This time we reached Mnarani and the slums. We bought basic food items such as corn flour, sugar, peas and oil. People came and my representative Karisa distributed the groceries.

KENYA, Kilifi area. Project Richard 1 – May 12, 2020

We returned to the site of the project Richard 1 – water for the people of Kenya. through Sadi we let people know that we would be distributing food. I know how hard it is for them; they gained access to free water last year, and now I needed to give more. When I started the first project, I promised these people that I would come back to them. Promise fulfilled.

KENIA, Matsangoni, approx. 90km north of Mombasa. Project Richard 2 – May 20, 2020

We returned to the site of the project Richard 2 – water for the people of Kenya. Through Sadi we have let people know that we would be distributing food. Just as during the first project, here I also promised the people that I would come back to them. Promise fulfilled.

KENYA, near Mombasa – May 23, 2020

Yet another place in Kenya reached by my representative.

KENYA, Mnarani, approx. 60km north of Mombasa – June 16, 2020

Today is the international Day of the African Child. On June 16, 1976, black students from Soweto, South Africa, took to the streets to protest against the poor state of education, demanding access to education in their native language. The local regime ordered the shooting of protesting children. Hundreds of children died and thousands were injured. This was the beginning of the end of apartheid.

We are here for the children on this day as well.

KENYA, Mnarani, approx. 60km north of Mombasa – August 11, 2020

I reached out to the family of recently deceased thirty-year-old Reheme. The woman died two days after giving birth to twin daughters, Margaret and Magdalen. She also orphaned three older children. Today, the children live with their sick, destitute grandmother. I took care of them.
